January has had some very beautiful days, and the first snowfall up at the new transmitter site. We continue to add new clients on Puget Island, in Skamokawa Valley, and a variety of other locations. We are working on continuing to expand our footprint in Wahkiakum county so stay tuned for news on upcoming expansions. We’ll also be adding a weather station at the ridge site so we’ll get to see how much wind there really is at 800′ elevation along the Columbia River.
Please continue to refer your friends and neighbors. I’m always glad to see that people are happy with the service and want to help out their friends. We currently sit at 87 clients and expect to pass 100 by the end of the first quarter of 2021. We have upgraded our internet bandwidth in Skamokawa from our initial 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps last summer and most recently to 500 Mbps as of December to keep up with our continued growth. Fun fact, our 7 day internet consumption total is now up to 7 TB. That’s one Terabyte of data every day. How much is a Terabyte you ask? Well 250,000 photos taken with a 12MP camera or 250 movies streamed at HD quality or 6.5 million document pages, which would require 1,3000 physical filing cabinets to hold all those pages.
Some of you download way more data than the majority of customers. We have no plans to initiate data caps but we may begin to notify our top users of their consumption to make sure we have enough to go around.
Thanks for your support,
Steve
